Beirut is a great indie band and Zack Cordon (lead singer) has a magnificent voice. This band is on my survival kit for the dark winter months!
Below are included three songs (all great songs and videos in each their own way):
1. Postcards from Italy (enjoy the ukulele)
2. Elephant Gun (nice music video)
3. Nantes (filmed in the Parisian streets)

Maybeshewill - In another life, when we are cats
This Leicester based pearl of an experimenting math rock band has some really nice tracks in their portfolio. One of these is “In another Life, When We Are Cats” which was used in the “Rules of Attraction” movie (dialogue in the track is from the movie).
Even though this bands songs in general are more up-beat, I still find it pretty chillful.

Iron and Wine - The Trapeze Swinger
Iron and Wine has made a lot of beautiful and moving songs. The Trapeze Swinger however with its 9,5 minute repetative rythm (and that Bm chord giving it a beautyful edge on two instances in every one of the seven verses).
The song was used in the soundtrack for the movie "In Good Company", and finally came out on the record "Around the Well" may 2009.

Horse Feathers
Horse Feathers is a great Canadian indie folk band.
The video included in this post is the first record from their "House with no name" record. The song itself is pretty representative for the "sound" that Horse Feathers have.
